TOEFL Secure Browser is the test application used to open the TOEFL ITP online remote test. Install it first so your device, audio, camera, and network can be checked before test day.
Open the Program Workshop/ETS page from the laptop or PC you will use for the test. The page usually says Program Administration ETS. Find “Download Secure Browser” in the top-right corner, then choose the version that matches your device.

Choose Download Secure Browser
On the ETS Program Administration page, find Download Secure Browser in the top-right corner. Use this button to start downloading the test app.
Choose the device version
Choose the version that matches the laptop used for the test, such as Windows or Mac. Do not choose a different device version.
Wait until download finishes
Do not open the file before the download is complete. On Windows, the file is usually named TOEFL Secure Browser.exe.

If the screen looks like the example, continue with installation. Keep the installer in an easy-to-find folder.
Review key checks in the ETS portal and bandwidth check.
Choose CheckReadiness
Use the test device, then choose CheckReadiness to start technical checking.
Choose Bandwidth Check
Open Advanced Readiness and Troubleshooting, then choose Bandwidth Check to check network stability.
Click Skip when asked for name
If first name and last name fields appear during checking, skip them with the Skip button.
Click Run Check
Click Run Check to check system, audio, microphone, camera, and device readiness.
Wait for system check
Do not close the page while checking is running. Wait until the result appears.
Save system check proof
Take a clear screenshot or screen photo. Make sure the result status is readable.
Click Run Bandwidth Check
After system check, continue to Run Bandwidth Check to test the internet connection.
Choose One Time Check
Use One Time Check for a single readiness check run.
Wait for network check
Let the bandwidth and latency check run automatically until it finishes.
Save final result
Save the final check result. This file becomes one of the readiness check proofs.
Save screenshots with clear names such as RC-01 to RC-08.
RC-01 Desktop
Show the desktop before opening the test app. Make sure interfering apps are closed.
RC-02 ETS Portal
Show the portal main page or start-check page as initial access proof.
RC-03 Audio and microphone
Save proof when the system tests speaker and microphone.
RC-04 Device passed
Make sure speaker, microphone, and camera show a success or OK indicator.
RC-05 System report
Save the system and network check summary shown on screen.
RC-06 Traceroute
If available, save network route or traceroute details as additional proof.
RC-07 Bandwidth and latency
Save bandwidth, latency, or stability check history so the connection can be reviewed.
RC-08 Final status
Save the final page showing the process is finished, Passed, or Completed.
After the readiness check is complete, send the official document package in one submission. Keep name spelling, birth date, file quality, and attachments consistent.
